Bright Nova discovered in Scorpius

Discovered independantly by two Japanese observers ( Mr Nakamura and Mr Sakurai ) on the 4th of Feb 2007. 1651-32 V 1280 SCO has brightened from its discovery at 9th magnitude to 3rd magnitude, which makes it one of the brightest novae of recent years. This rate of mag increase is made all the more interesting when it was pointed out that on the 2nd of Feb it was not apparent on a ccd image (limited to 11/12th magnitude).
Charts are available I believe for followers at the AAVSO http://www.aavso.org/cgi-bin/searchcharts3.pl?&name=V1280%20SCO.
